What to say about Dick and Kris. These two are adorable. Dick loves to smile (hence the title of this post) and his smile seriously lights up a room. It’s no wonder Kris fell for this handsome guy. And Kris, well she is quiet, shy and reserved. But again, when this girl smiles she comes to life and is absolutely stunning.

I remember meeting up with Kris a long time ago to chat about her wedding. When she mentioned it was going to be outside in Jasper, I just knew we were a great fit and that her wedding would be stunning. We headed to Jasper that Saturday, they had a Sunday wedding, and the weather was perfect. When we woke up Sunday morning, it was raining! I have shot over 60 weddings and NEVER had to deal with rain. I was a little panicked. I didn’t know the area to have a back up plan and I love shooting outdoors, it’s just my thing. So as everyone got ready we crossed our fingers and toes and hoped for the rain to go away. This outdoor ceremony just had to happen.

And it did.

The rain stopped.

The ceremony was stunning.

It started to spit again when we headed to do formal photos, but as my luck would have it, it completely stopped until the reception started. I was in luck and one happy photographer.
There is nothing like a mountainous backdrop for wedding photos. It was simply stunning out there and was an absolutely amazing day.
