The MCRoughley crew means the world to me. They have taken our family in and called us their own. They have been there for us in ways I never expected anyone to be. They let us in and I love them for it.

This Fall day in Edmonton was absolutely magical. Shauna and I talked during the day about how gloomy and muggy it was out. But between both of our insane busy schedules and lining everything  up, today was the day. It had to happen or it wasn’t going to. And who wants to miss those beautiful fall colors?!
The minute we pulled up to this location, the sun came out in the most beautiful ways. It just lit up the tress and came through with stunning rays. It was seriously magical. I was in awe of it the entire time  I was shooting.

Now about this family. If you know them personally I am sure you will be sitting behind your computer nodding as you read this. And if you don’t you will probably want to be friends with them soon (ha).

They are the most genuine, energetic, real people I have ever met. They have enormous hearts and are extremely grounded. They have a family dynamic that everyone could hope for in their own. They give and don’t ask for anything in return and they truly shine in every possible way.

I walked away from this session feeling happy. Inspired and lifted up. If that isn’t an amazing thing, I don’t know what is.

I am happy to call Shauna my very dear friend. She is my person. My go to when I need to scream that my kid won’t go to bed and to quick my butt to not eat that piece of cake. She is there for me whenever I need her.

Gareth is the hands on Dad. The one who chases everyone around and brings smiles ear to ear.

Callum, well he is my sons bestie. They have a bond that is beautiful and something I never knew toddlers could have.

Uncle Josh is the best with these boys.

And Shauna’s parents, well I kind of want to adopt them. They spent this summer showing our little man life at the lake and treated him like he was their own. It definitely makes me really miss our family that is so far away but be so thankful for these beautiful humans for making us feel so special.

I don’t often get to shoot extended family sessions and this one definitely set the bar high.

We love you guys. Thank you so much for the most amazing night ever.
