SWOON
Get ready to have your eyes be filled with stunning details.
This is the longest blog I have ever put out there. I simply could not cut down the number of photos. I tried really hard, but nope, just couldn’t do it. Trust me, you will understand once you start scrolling.
The story of Jamie and I is actually pretty awesome. She contacted me one day, probably 2 or 3 years ago now . She actually sent me a message in hopes of finding her friend a photographer for her destination wedding. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to do that wedding but referred Jamie to a few photographers in hopes of helping her out. Well shortly after that wedding I got another email from Jamie. SHE WAS ENGAGED. And it happened at the destination I wasn’t able to make it to. I was beyond excited for her but I was even more excited that she came back to tell me. Jamie was over the moon about how nice I was, even though I couldn’t do that wedding myself, that she just had to have me for herself.
Let that be a lesson to all you photographers out there. Saying NO when you are booked in an email just doesn’t cut the cake. Customer service is key in this industry. I fully believe that you are not selling a product, but are selling yourself.
Anyway, sorry back on topic. Jamie also heard about me through a mutual friend of ours. Blaire, I will be forever grateful to you for introducing us.
Talking with Jamie over the months (and we talked a ton) I got extremely excited. The details, the dress…THE DRESS OMG THE DRESS. It was all to die for. Everything was put together with so much thought. Jamie knew exactly what she wanted her day to be and there was no missing a beat. She hired great vendors who put this wedding together and literally made it perfect (check them all out below).
This was my dream wedding. Vintage. Glam. Stunning. Brilliant. Everything I could have ever dreamed of. But this wedding was Jamie from head to toe. Walking in her house and seeing her personal style, I just knew the day was going to be amazing. Her bedroom was full of beautiful natural light with details and stunning decor. It was absolutely perfect. And then there as Jamie. Her hair was perfect. Her makeup was perfect. Everything was perfect (sorry I just cannot find another word for it). She was beaming. Her day was here and all her hard work was coming together. Shooting Jamie while she got in her dress and put the final touches on, I think I melted. Shawn and I were shooting like crazy people and getting ridiculously excited. I am sure we made fools of ourselves a few times. But come on….did you see this girl?! Anyway, it was perfect. Everything!!!
We headed for the ceremony at St.Joachim Catholic Church where the steps had beautiful flowers and some more of Jamie’s details. We walked in and our jaws dropped. What an absolutely stunning church. Jamie walked up the aisle with her veil over her face. It was traditional and I adored it. Again, everything was just perfect.
But there was this one tiny thing that put a little damper on things (pun intended)…
I was cursed this year with rain. Where I went, it went. I mean beautiful weather, until we opened the doors after the ceremony. Torrential downpour. I even attached photos to prove it. It was insane. So we waited it out and ended up getting a bit of sunshine in for some photos. I also managed to sneak the couple out for some sunset shots during their beautiful wedding held at Fort Edmonton Park in Edmonton. Over all, this day was unreal and just breathtaking.
Thank you J&G for having us for your day. It truly was beautiful and I hope it was everything you imagined. I cannot thank you enough for having us be a part of it.
Lots of love
