This session is something I have been wanting to do for such a long time but I knew that if I was going to do it, it had to be perfect. I knew I needed to find the perfect Make-Up artist and the perfect model that could say a ton with her eyes.
SUCCESS.
This shoot was so much fun. It was also a big challenge for us, us meaning basically me. Shawn likes crazy lighting and shadows. I am not one for dodgy light or having shadows in the photos. This time we decided together to make it work. Throughout the session I had to keep pulling myself back and reminding myself that I was there for a challenge and to test myself with the light. If there was a shadow on her face, instead of moving it, I used it. If the light was too bright, I worked with it instead of finding shade. I normally like soft light and soft black and whites. This album is full of everything opposite to that. These conceptual shoots that I do from time to time take me out of my element, test me, and show a different style of photos than my wedding stuff. I have so much fun doing a handful of these each year.
Hope you enjoy this one, it is one of my favourites to date!
