Very little words for this Jasper Park Wedding. It was absolutely perfect start to finish.
I remember the day I met up with Jess to talk about their wedding. She had it all planned out, knew exactly what she wanted and that she had to have me. I love meeting couples who are so sure of their choice with me, have done their research and just trust me so so much with their day. It gives me such relief that the day will run so smooth and the year leading up to it will be great interactions.
And it as just that. We had a few bumps along the way with schedule the engagement session, second shooter issues, location issues, hotel mix ups ya know the normal stuff. But Jess didnt bat an eye not even once. She was so calm, so trusting and just so genuine. She never ever made me feel like “just a vendor”. I always felt appreciated and cared about it. This is huge in my books. I attract the best clients. I almost never photograph a wedding where I dont feel valued and important. Jess did an exceptional job at making me feel special. And hey, its her day, who am I to feel special haha.
But seriously the day was perfect. It was crazy hot the day before and bright bright sun. Not going to lie, it had be a bit worried. I am super pregnant (although only 4 months) and weirdly huge (thank you twins), so the heat really doesnt work with me these days. But in the mountains bright sun can really work with you on making those blue colors and beautiful mountains pop. But the morning came of their big day and it was over cast and the perfect temperature. As the day went on it got hotter (I think it went up to +32) and the smoke came in fierce. You could barely even see the mountains and it seemed to make it feel even hotter. It was crazy. There were probably 8 other weddings in the area where we were. It was a busy fast paced day and it all worked out the way it should have.
Now lets take a minute and talk about Jessicas dress. A dream come true wedding gown to photograph. Not to mention her pale skin and red hair. I can check this one off my bucket list. It was perfect for her in every single way. So was their reception. Jess told me it was nothing much, she kind of just put it together. I could photograph it if we had time. HELLO stunning decor. It was amazing. I am so glad I made it work to have this photographed as it was anything other than simple. It was classy and stunning. She planned a pretty fabulous wedding if I do say so myself.
I do have to do a little shout out to a few people. To Jessicas bridesmaids, you were awesome. One was 38 weeks pregnant and holy man did I feel for her. She was a huge trooper and such a good friend. I hope that baby made its appearance by now but thank you for sticking it out. And to the other ladies, you were such a great help and so sweet for asking how I was going the whole time. I truly appreciate it.
And to Dylan, the handsome groom. You put up with a lot this day. The heat, the mix up in locations, just everything. Thank you for keeping that smile on your face and holding your new wife close. Also, you said something to me that means more to me than you could know. You told me that you had a whole new respect for what I do. This may sound like something small but with everyone being “photographers” these days it really made me feel appreciated and worth it. Thank you for being so kind.
Kind is the only word I can think of when I think of the two of you. Jess has a smile that lights up the room, no literally she actually does. She is the happiest bride I think I have ever seen. And Dylan, the way you speak of your friends and family made me feel like I knew the real you.
Thank you guys for choosing me for this special day. Its one that will go down in the books for me for sure. I wish you so much love and luck in the future and cant wait until our paths cross again
