They started this life together, and it has been an amazing one. And then along came Rowan.
They are complete.
Blair & Nicole have a connection like I have never seen before. The way she melts in his arms and how he just breathes her right in. It is something to stand back and admire.
When they asked me to be a part of their day, I was so thrilled. I was there when they started out, when Rowan was in Nicole’s belly and now when they said “I DO”. I love following the journeys of wonderful people.
But I also knew that this wedding would be different. Blair and Nicole are not traditional by any means. They actually even hung out together the morning of the wedding. They got to spend quality time dressing up their little man and just letting the day do it’s thing. It was very casual, relaxed and real.
You can just tell that everyone around these two are just amazing people. You could actually feel the love in the room.
Their ceremony was held at Medalta Potteries, in Medicine Hat. I have never actually shot in this venue before but if it was as beautiful inside as it is outside, it was going to be unreal. And it didn’t disappoint. This venue is absolutely stunning. Beautiful brick and pottery covering the walls. Open ceilings and just a complete rustic feel to it.
The ceremony was full of tears as Blair & Nicole said their vows.
We were very tight for time and it was a bright sunny day so we took full advantage of shooting in Medalta. Now this was a bit out of my element. I NEVER shoot formal photos indoors. I find that when I am given 4 walls, I tend to freeze up a bit. Not too sure what it is but all my creativity goes away. But, being put to the test with one of the most beautiful couples I have met, I was up for the challenge. We walked around as I looked for pockets of light and magic. Well…keep scrolling and you’ll see the magic we made!
But I had this one spot I recently found in Medicine Hat that I knew was perfect for this wedding. So I begged and pleaded that we just spend a tiny bit of time there. Man am I glad we did.
Nicole & Blair, thank you so much for including me in your big day. It was magical. Your love it magical.
Best wishes to you and your beautiful family!
XO
Nicole
