Winter Wedding Photos really are something extra special. They seem to have this magical story behind them. They are unique and romantic and just swoon-worthy.
I was so excited when Luc and Amy contacted me about their Winter wedding. Being in Edmonton I rarely get inquiries for winter weddings. I assume people fear the weather here. I mean I definitely would if I were a bride. But am I ever glad I was asked to shoot this wedding. It was so nice to get excited in the winter months to shoot a wedding. Be fresh and rested and full of inspiration.
Amy is the most down to earth, girl next door, girl. She is soft and sweet with a very kind heart.
Luc is hilarious. He is shy and bashful and has a great group of guys surrounding him. Oh and he adores Amy.
Their wedding was held out in Morinville at the St. Jean Baptist Parish. This church will always hold a very special place in my heart. I shot my very first wedding there back in 2009. I will never forget that day, and that couple. And here I was so many years late and well into my career shooting a stunning wedding with a fabulous couple. I was definitely feeling it full circle and feeling blessed.
Amy and Luc’s ceremony was beautiful. My favorite part was when Amy’s little brother took part in it. Absolutely special and personal.
So maybe if I say the date of this wedding you will all go ” Ahhhh that day!”
Because really, we should all remember it. 70km winds in February.
70km!!!
I mean what is that even!!?? It was terrible. I am not even exaggerating. The wind was cold. Even though it was +3 it felt so much colder. I am so incredibly impressed with this amazing group of people. The girls were even in short dresses and still stuck it out for me. Ok the guys get credit too but they did have on full suits and winter coats. So just saying…THANK YOU LADIES for sticking it out. You all looked stunning.
And Amy and Luc, I have never worked this fast for formal photos before. You were amazing and let me do my thing while we let the snot run down our faces. I thank you so much for trusting me with your day and battling the winds with me.
I am wishing you so much love in your future.
