Fall Engagement Photos are definitely high on the list of my favorite time to shoot. The colors. The light. The temperature. It’s all just so perfect.
I met Kaylene a few years back in Calgary when I shot her brothers wedding. That wedding will always be so memorable to me. I met so many amazing people. Derrick and Tiffany are an absolute wonderful couple and had the most beautiful wedding. I also met Katrina, Tiffany’s maid of honor, who is now a good friend of mine and our little mans day-home. And now, Kaylene and Andrew. I remember chatting with Kaylene at their wedding and we just clicked. She is just the sweetest girl ever. After becoming friend on Facebook we stayed in touch and I watcher her relationship with Andrew blossom into something beautiful. I would by lying if I said I wasn’t hoping Kaylene would choose me when her big day came.
And it did!
And she did!
I was so incredibly excited when she contacted me and said she just had to have me. I think booking people who have been in previous weddings, or even at them for that matter, is such a huge compliment. They say you work, they met you and liked everything about it.It wasn’t based on portfolio alone, or what they have heard but on their own experience with you.
I felt honored.
And then we met for their engagement session (after being rained out the first time) and it was such a beautiful night. Now, you’ll hear me say a ton that I like to shoot in random locations. This whole session was literally shot on the side of a parking lot. No jokes! I saw this tree, the light was just coming through perfectly and I just could not let it go to waste. There are buildings are cars all around us. What a photographer sees is something wonderful!
Kaylene and Andrew, I am so excited for your big day next year. You two are one amazing couple!
Until then…
