As I sit here in our condo in Edmonton surrounded by boxes, I find myself reflecting back on 2014 (and a bit of 2013).
We moved to back to Medicine Hat from Calgary on October 31st, 2013 and now back to Edmonton November 25th, 2014.
Bitter sweet in the only way to explain it. I love Medicine Hat. I love how easy it is to get everywhere and that anywhere you need to go is literally 8 minutes away.
I love the small town feel to it and that everyone knows everyone (except when I want to go to the store in my pajamas).
I love that it hold my memories and so much of my heart.
I LOVE that my entire family is there.
My childhood was there. I don’t say I grew up in Medicine Hat because I truly feel like I “grew up” when I moved out on my own and ventured off to Edmonton. But I also never thought that after we left Edmonton, we would come back.
Walking the halls of our condo feel so familiar, yet so different. Coming back with a toddler on my hip is definitely crazy. Totally full circle for me.
We CANNOT wait for the next step which will be into our brand new home. We are hoping this will happen sometime in February so I refuse to unpack all of our boxes. Maybe it will help speed things along, who knows.
But with all the love I have for Edmonton, which is a ton, I realized how amazing Medicine Hat was to me.
In 12 months I shot almost 90 sessions there.
90!
That to me is so cool. Some were repeat clients (which I totally love) and a lot were new. I had so much fun getting to know everyone, trying out newborn photography and venturing into family photography.
My 2014 season is officially over. I have no shoots on the books and everything has been processed and is in the hands of my clients.
Of course there is still a ton to do. Blogging. Prep for next season. Ect. Ect.
I am currently gathering images and inspiration for my rebrand that is coming in just a few short week (I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS AND CANNOT WAIT TO SHARE!!!)
And of course, I have a few “just for me” shoots planned.
Every year I plan a handful of sessions that I shoot just for me. No pressure. My creative mind just runs and goes for it. I cannot wait to share what I have planned.
But for now, I say THANK YOU!
Medicine Hat you have been amazing to me. I am so thrilled that you have brought me into your families and shared some special moments with me. I am glad I could give you life long memories.
Don’t you worry, I will be back…I always am! I am scheduled for 3 weddings there next year (May and October) so I plan on making them long visits to fit everyone in.
Until then…from the bottom of my heart, thank you so incredibly much.

(p.s. I am so incredibly sorry if I missed anyone below. I am not the most organized person these days with all the moving going on)
