There truly is nothing better than an intimate backyard wedding. The closeness of everyone surrounding you in a comfortable environment. Everyone being entirely themselves and the focus on nothing but the amazing couple. That was exactly what Kane and Celia’s wedding was all about.
It seriously was the most magical day, start to finish. All week long it called for rain (go figure) but not even a drop fell from the sky the whole day. In fact, it was a bit warm and humid for everyone but we weren’t complaining. It was a beautiful day.
I met Celia a few years ago at her best friends engagement shoot when she came to assist. Since then shes been in front of my lens a few times and I couldn’t feel more honored that she then chose me for her big day. You see, Celia is one of the kindest, sweetest, most down to earth people I have yet to me. So sure of herself, smart and absolutely stunning. She is a girl you want to be like and a friend you wish to have. She truly is a gem and I’m glad our paths crossed. And did I mention her dress as literally made for her body. Ahhhmazing!
As we chatted about their day, Celia and Kane told me it was a very down to earth outdoor wedding. Nothing over the top for details. It was a tent wedding (reception) and an outdoor ceremony. Sounded perfect to me. When I showed up that morning my breath was taken away. The reception decor was absolutely breathtaking and the ceremony location was to die for. It was absolutely beautiful in every single way. Although I wouldn’t call it down to earth as they described. I would call it romantic, intimate and classy. It fit them perfectly and their family did a wonderful job putting it all together.
There were so many moments from this day that I will remember. One being when Celia’s veil got caught on the stairs while she walked towards her groom. Her reaction was the cutest (see picture below). And then there was that beautiful pink room the girls got ready in. It just flowed so well with the stunning dresses the girls were wearing. And it was so oh so girly. And then there was the amazing vows from Kane. I think everyone had their jaws on the floor. He really nailed them. Oh and did I mention some of the best speeches I have heard at a reception? They were hilarious!! And the dances, oh the dances! If every reception was like this I would die. They were awesome. The way Kane’s Mom smiled ear to ear during their Mother, Son dance was so sweet. And do we need to even mention how awesome Celia and her Dad were??! Their choreographed dance was THE best I have ever seen.
I could literally go on and on about this day. It was so beautiful in so many ways. And I mean, the bride and groom aren’t hard on the eyes either.
But in all seriousness, this is the second time I got to shoot many of these beautiful humans (first was last year and Ryan and Stephanie’s wedding)and I feel blessed. They all made me feel like family and a part of them. I am lucky enough to get to photography a group of them again next year for Ty and Ally’s (Ryans sister) wedding too and I cannot wait. That will be 3 years in a row. Come, on let’s make it a yearly tradition!
Thank you so much for having me be a part of your day.
