Dear Mason,

2 WHOLE MONTHS!

To look back and picture having a two month old is absolutely crazy. Days seem to go really slow but then you realise how long it has been and they have actually been going by really fast.

Mason, you are a really REALLY good baby. I am part of an online baby group and reading about some struggles a lot of Moms are having, I feel blessed. You only cry when you have a wet diaper or are hungry…THAT’S IT. You are just so great.You are even already sleeping 6 hours at night. Yes, it was rough in the beginning, as you were only sleeping for about 2-3 at a time but that is over now. You are also my little working partner. You sit beside my desk in your swing and just hang out, fall asleep, get up, eat, and do it all over again.

How’s being a new Mom you ask?

Well, being the honest person I am…it is “different”.

That is the only way I can sum it up. It isn’t like anything you can imagine. I had a newborn session the other day and the Mom put it a good way.

At this stage it is a one sided relationship. You give and give and he takes and takes. In a couple months, when he starts giving back, then you will feel the love everyone talks about.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE you son, but I cannot wait for those big giggles, sitting up, and being a person of your own. Right now it’s just something I thought didn’t last this long. Everyone can tell you anything they want about being a parent but you really truly will not know until you are one.

Oh and that hair…that crazy crazy hair that you get from your Mom is just something else

You are really good in the car, after all the car rides you are a pro

You just started playing on your play mat and hitting your toys that hang from above

You clinch your hands into fists really tight when you eat

Your Dad calls you his little man

Your Mom calls you her Monkey. Maybe because when I put my finger to your little toes you grab them, every time!
