31 weeks and still growing strong.
Some days I feel like you are so big and strong you are just going to punch right through my belly. Well I actually feel like you are just going to fall right through the bottom of my belly most days. I sometimes hold the bottom to make sure you are still in there. You are one heavy little man.
But good news, I finally figured out a way to sleep at night. It is pretty much sitting up but my back finally doesn’t hurt when I wake up. I hope that it is still comfortable for you in there. I’ve woken up a few times throughout the night and you seem to completely shift to my right side while we sleep now. Pretty sure you curl up in a little ball, just like your Mom, because my whole belly just lumps to one side. I’ve tried taking photos but it doesn’t do it justice. I think it’s pretty cool.
I also think it’s pretty cool that no one else in the world can possibly know the feeling you give to me. When you make your little bubble pops in there or your gigantic kicks. Those are just you and I. I carry you each and every day. I feed you lots of orange juice and lately tons of chocolate (no wonder you are looking to be a big baby in there). I stare at you for hours every single day and just catch myself smiling. Your Dad will catch me just looking and smiling all of the time. I am a weirdo what can I say. But I do know that I am head over heels in love with you and you aren’t even here yet. I hope you can handle all of the snuggles you are going to get.
And guess what..? Your Dad and I took the plunge!
WE BOUGHT ALL OF YOUR STUFF FINALLY.
I guess we work better together when we randomly decide to go shopping. We made the journey to Babies R Us again and it was super successful, and not overwhelming at all. We bought you your stroller and car seat set (which I absolutely love). And we bought you a play yard and a little bouncy thing (ya I am still clueless what things are really called). It was so great, super exciting and really eye opening. Man does your life change when a little one comes into the picture. A year ago we probably would have been shopping for cars or concert tickets. But this year we are spoiling you rotten awaiting your arrival. This I know for sure, we will try and give you everything you could ever need!
Putting everything together was super exciting. I don’t think I have ever seen your Dad work that fast. He is pretty excited.
I also spent time taking tags off of the clothes we have for you and organizing your change table. Do you know how tiny your little bum is going to be? Those diapers are soooo small.
We are getting there. We have everything we need to take you home from the hospital and that is all I care about right now. Your room is completely done (FINALLY). Yes, I will show you some photos soon but your Gramma and Grampa are coming up for a visit in a couple of weeks so I want them to see it first. And then of course we will send pictures to your Nana too.
We also had your check up with the doctor this week. All is well. No real updates on the belly yet. Our ultrasound is next week to confirm more. I gained 1 pound (cannot wait until I can say no more gaining) and you grew 1 cm. This is still showing as 2cm over but wasn’t a huge jump like before so we are happy. Basically what they are saying is that I am 31 weeks but measuring at almost 34 weeks. So you may be an early baby (which I have guessed this whole time anyway). They answered some more questions about the concerns, which was so nice. Apparently lots of fluid CAN be a bad thing, but not something they recommend me looking into. I felt great talking to the nurse because she had the same thing. They told her she was too big, baby was huge and she ended up fine with a 7 pound baby. I predict you will be almost 8 pounds. Still big, but healthy is all that matters. One other thing did come from this appointment that was different than the others. My blood pressure. It is high. Not going to lie I am getting stressed out, and have a ton going on. I will try and calm down so it is lower for the next appointment. Other than that everything was normal. You heartbeat was 135 again and you are still head down. Please stay down there. I am liking the thought of you being all ready and eager to come out.
Oh AND we had our very first prenatal class this week as well. Your Mom and Dad are know-it-alls that is for sure but when it comes to this whole what to expect thing, we need some lessons. The class went really well and apparently we do know a thing or two. We did presentations and helped others in the class with information. This goes for the next 6 weeks so it should be interesting what we learn. She taught your Dad how to massage my hands while in labor so it is definitely worth it!
Not going to lie, things are getting really exciting. Really real. And your Dad and I are smiling ear to ear.
Yes, still a scared Mom over here. But the thought of holding you and seeing your little face means more now than it ever has.
SOON BABY M
